np: Jimmy Eat World - 23

oh mannn school's started. its chilly here. wearing 4 layers is just about enough for me. somehow nights seem to be alright, but during the day the wind just kills me.not a bad timetable this semester. 25 hours, but seems shorter cos i've got no free periods...so mondays end at 5, tues-thursday ends at 315 and friday ends at 11am YAY! ok i think i said that already, but i cant get over how nice my fridays are.

had bio prac today. the same partner as last sem. sigh. SIGH. he did no work as usual. i did everything. but i aced the test. so screw him. we extracted E.Coli DNA...the teacher said we can keep it if we want...but seriously, who wants to keep something like E COLI???? its fricking dangerous la. i threw it away, washed my hands damn hard and got out of the lab.

been meeting up with friends the past few days. met grace a couple of times, plus sandhya, the sister, melissa, val and esther. had a nice dinner with mel, val and esther last night and dessert at crown. good fun. its nice to have relaxing nights like this before the real hustle of school starts.

melissa and esther are in my chem tut. YAY! but we're kinda stuck at a singapore table and all my old tute friends are gone..so thats not so great. got the same tutor as last sem tho...he's very good-i was so happy when i saw it was him at the front of the room.i need all the help i can get, its organic chem this semester, which was my A level downfall! Anna's not in my chem lab anymoreeeeeeeee....nooooooooo.

on a bright note, she, ariane, cassandra, adrian and anthony are all in my new bio class...well lectures la...tute im not sure yet.

anyway, its 1230...i've got a shit load of admin stuff to take care of tmr...so im off.

np: michael jackson - black or white

ok i've finished HP7. woke up around 645 this morning, took a long hot shower, ate a few bites of bread then ran over to melissa's house to go get our book together. it was so foggy and cold but we were so excited that the cold dint really matter to us. lucky we got there early, we only had to wait about 1.5 hrs to get our book. by the time we got our book and went out, the queue was already in the street. i pity those ppl that had to wait in the cold, but they should have been smarter and come earlier. there was this 10yr old girl who was crying and hyperventilating when she got her book, thats how happy she was, it was quite funny to watch.

i seriously could not stop smiling from the minute i got my book to the time i opened my apartment door. then i hibernated for 10 hours and just read and read and read. it was satisfying, tied up loose ends well. made me laugh, made me cry, made me hold my breath in fear and anticipation. i really enjoyed it. it was bittersweet in the end, like i was happy to know the fate of all the characters, but was sad that there would never be another HP book, never be another pre-order, never be another day of waking up at 530 and walking to borders to line up for the book, never be another moment of sheer happiness when i lay my hands on the latest HP volume. but as Nelly Furtado said, all good things must come to an end, and what a great ending it was.

met up with sandhya on friday night when we went for pancakes with my sis and HK...after that went to her friend's place where i learnt to play poker...its quite fun. i had some beginners luck so i dint get totally cleaned out, and we werent playing with money anyway.

bought all my prac manuals and lecture summaries, except bio prac...this bio department ah...really need to get with the programme...how come its not in stock yet...my prac is on wednesday morning.

i got a gorgeous friday...finish at 11am this semester on fridays. how yummy is that. its practically a 3 day weekend! i love it.

the All Blacks won the tri-nations and bledisloe cup. Richie McCaw will you marry me please?! i love you!

np: U2 - beautiful day

gonna be going back to melbourne in 4 days. seems like the 3 weeks have really flown by. i've done most of the things i wanted to do, which were eat, see my friends, shop, see my family and cut my hair. what i did not do was exercise, but lets face it, i never expected to follow thru with that plan anyway. haha.

i'm quite looking forward to going back to school actually, now that i'll have a few more friends in melbourne with me. i hope 2nd semester was as good as the first. i hope classes are still interesting, and i will be very happy if physics could be a little easier!! thankfully, i did alright in my exams, so if i can keep it up next semester, the vet science dream should become a reality...after what seems like 389286187365 years of planning, praying and hoping.

the last week has been pretty darn good. went out with my friends alot, had a nice crystal jade lunch with my cousins and celebrated my mum's bday as well. sis and i took her to sakae sushi along with the cousins. our dad graciously paid via credit card cos the sis and i dint have much cash left.

went with sandz and sam to thread eyebrows at little india. our usual place has increased its price from 5 to 7 bucks! KNN! just cos GST went up 2% how can they raise their price by $2???? so we, being cheapo and outraged, went to search the whole street for cheap threading and finally came across a place where they threaded for 5bucks. and it was fun. we were telling stories about our holidays and irritating boys, while the staff listened in amusement.

had seafood dinner that night and went to arab street, where i had my first experience with shisha...its not all its cracked up to be. but maybe thats cos i was so bad at it.

went clubbing with nav, tinem, sanam, preeti and sam on wednesday. sanam got bounced out of MoS cos she was underaged(no big loss, MoS wasnt great that night). we went to Gotham Penthouse to see Odyssey which is this all male dance group, which does the occasional stripping. but not fully naked of course. they end up in G-strings at the end of the night and lemme tell you - they are damn bloody hot ok?? my goodness i am not ashamed to admit i was practically salivating into my drink. we each had our favourites. mine was sidney who was tall tanned, muscular and had the sexiest tattoo ever in the middle of his back. and a nice stud of an earring. hubba hubba! and it helped that he was a really good dancer.

ok enough with the horniness...that was my awesome wednesday night. thursday was crash-at-home-and-relax day. belle,mich, sally and qua came over and belle and i ended sleeping in my living room. we chatted, slept, ate and finally ordered pizza and watched the phantom of the opera. typical choir ppl, cant stay away from a good musical.

yesterday night my mum and i had dinner with her brother, my favourite uncle. he took us to this very nice place where they had a malay food buffet. the food wasnt fan-freaking-tastic or anything. it was very nice, but the ambience was the best part. the restaurant is in this old Javanese house next to the Istana Kampung Glam and the Sultan Mosque. very very nice place. after that we went to Cricket Club for drinks where i had the long awaited Gunner. its this awesome non-alcoholic drink that ive been craving since i went to melbourne in feb. i must get the recipe and make it myself. had a great night with my uncle - he always has interesting stories to tell.

tonight im having dinner with 1105!! YAY!

oh oh by the way, i saw order of the phoenix...i'd say its one of the better harry potter movies. but if i were you i'd watch it on one of the cheap 6.50 days...probably not worth 9 bucks.

ok i know i havent updated in a while but i have a good reason! I'M BACK HOME!!! and i've been too busy seeing my friends and family to go online. its been a week exactly since i got back. went back to tj with navleen and the sis to collect my A level cert, but actually i just went to experience,once again, the wonder that is Bedok South Food Centre. mee pok, fishball mee and popiah....which pretty much made up 2 years worth of lunches in that school. met ez and muni after that in town to eat tim tams, cam whore and plan the rest of my 3 week vacation.oh and i finally finally finally bought Shantaram. its awesome so far, but its been put on hiatus so i can read Giggs' biography(thanks aga!!)

wednesday i met up with p10 and had wonton mee and teh peng which was pretty darn awesome considering it only cost me 4.70 and tasted damn good. went to sit in istana park after that just to chat and catch up. i love just sitting somewhere with friends and talking. its the best feeling.

thursday was spent in the salon...doin my hair. 6 bloody hours...and 1 book later(The Kite Runner - wonderful book) and now i have nice straight, manageable hair again. :)

my dad came back on friday morning. it was so so nice to see him again. mum cooked up a big lunch and then we had a really great dinner at Olive in labrador park. i think my mum wanted me to stay home cos my dad was there, but he had a convenient conference call with his boss, so i took the opportunity to go to clarke quay with navleen and tina. MoS was shit(AGAIN...why am i so unlucky??) so we went to sit at Cafe Iguana...tina said she needed to "get happy" so we shared a mango macho margerita which was very very yummy, as were 2 boys sitting across from us! haha. tina had her eye on one of them...navleen got called a bulldog. HA.

met sandhya after she finished work and we went to this bhangra club: Rupee Room, where we each met ppl we knew, whether we liked the ppl we saw was a different thing(hur hur)...it was really good fun, cos being malayalee, sandz and i had no clue what the songs were so we just made up our own random dance moves. best part: WE ARE CHEAPO AND IT WAS FREE....so yay!

saturday i went to one of my favourite places in singapore...the national stadium at kallang, for the last ever football match that was being played there before they demolished it. singapore kena hantam by australia 3-0, but it was alright. had a nice ramly burger and then went to the airport to see my dad off. man, kallang holds so many good memories for me- dancing in the rain, cheering cedar on til my throat hurt and i had no voice even though Choir SYF was like, in 3 days, going for Tiger Cup matches, National Day parades. i'll be so sad when it finally gets demolished. will definitely go for the cedar photo taking there before i go back to melb.

sunday was dinner with the family. more camwhoring with the cousins, and a good opportunity to see everyone in one go before i have to go back to school, aunties, uncles, cousins, family friends, relatives whose names escape me...typical indian family gathering la.

and today. the mother of all good food days.first lunch with bob,aga and arlene at fish and co, catching up on 1105 gossip and stuff...then met ez, sandz, muni and anita for dinner at Simpang which is this great food joint in bedok, where you sit under the trees and eat the best food that singapore has to offer...prata, satay, roti john, kebabs, mee goreng, nasi briyani, milo dinosaurs, teh peng...man...i ate a massive kebab, one milo peng and 1 teh peng and it only cost me 7.50. and i was stuffed after that...you have no idea how good it felt to say: Uncle one teh peng...how much ah?? hahaha and it tasted so good. and anita...spoke better malay than everyone else there: Uncle dua teh tarik, satu teh peng, satu ice kosong, satu ice lemon tea. hahahaha and all that only came to 4.70. God how i miss cheap good food.

sat there from 7-1045 just eating, taking pics, talking, laughing, bitching, planning...everything. i felt completely content. happy day.

ok i know i've probably bored you all with my stupid day by day recap, but i just love being back in singapore, despite the gross humidity ( i wear nothing but shorts and slippers out now) so i want to tell everyone(the 5 or so ppl that read this lol) about what i'm up to. sorry this is how its gonna be til im back in melb.
